About Dr. Horton
Dr. Jodie M. Horton is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist with more than 22 years of experience caring for women through every stage of life. She is passionate about helping women feel their best by combining evidence-based medicine with lifestyle interventions that address the root causes of many health concerns.
Dr. Horton specializes in perimenopause, menopause, weight management, metabolic health, sexual wellness, and lifestyle medicine. She is a Certified Menopause Practitioner through The Menopause Society and is board-certified in Lifestyle Medicine through the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. Her approach goes beyond treating symptoms; she partners with each patient to create a personalized plan focused on optimizing long-term health, vitality, and quality of life.
At Ovum Health, Dr. Horton provides comprehensive telehealth care that integrates nutrition, physical activity, restorative sleep, stress management, healthy relationships, and the avoidance of harmful substances with the latest medical therapies, including hormone therapy and GLP-1 medications when appropriate. She believes that lasting health comes from empowering patients with knowledge and practical tools to make sustainable lifestyle changes.
Throughout her career, Dr. Horton has served as an OB/GYN physician, Medical Director, Clinical Assistant Professor, hospitalist, utilization reviewer, and medical expert reviewer. She has cared for women in private practice, academic medicine, hospital settings, and virtual care while mentoring residents and medical students. She has also worked as a medical advisor and product developer in women's health, contributing to educational resources and consumer health products designed to improve women's well-being.
Dr. Horton earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in French and Chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, received her Doctor of Medicine from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine, and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Tennessee. She has been recognized throughout her career for excellence in patient care and medical education, including receiving the Anthony R. Scialli, MD Academic Attending of the Year Award from Georgetown University/MedStar Health.
