About Dr. Plessala
Dr. Plessala is a practicing obstetrician and gynecologist with over 30 years of clinical experience helping women with recurrent pregnancy loss, PCOS, unexplained infertility, and subfertility get pregnant without IVF. His approach centers on identifying and addressing the root causes behind a patient's fertility challenges rather than moving straight to invasive intervention.
A native of Morgan City, Louisiana, Dr. Plessala earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Tulane University and his medical degree from Louisiana State University Medical Center. He is a proud resident of Mobile, Alabama, where he continues to see patients and mentor colleagues throughout the region.
Dr. Plessala is known among his patients and peers for his kindness and empathetic bedside manner. He believes deeply that one pregnancy loss is one too many, and dedicates his spare time to innovating non-invasive approaches to improving pregnancy outcomes. He is an avid researcher and active contributor to the field of reproductive health, always seeking better, gentler paths to help women build their families.
At Ovum Health, Dr. Plessala brings this same patient-first philosophy to telehealth — giving women facing recurrent loss, PCOS, or unexplained infertility a compassionate, evidence-based path forward without automatically defaulting to IVF.
"One pregnancy loss is too many. My life's work is finding gentler, more effective ways to help women carry a pregnancy to term."
